Wakatake Onikoroshi Junmai Daiginjo

Known as “Demon Slayer,” this sake was once enjoyed at Shimada-juku during the Edo period.
It was said to warm travelers chilled by crossing the Ōi river and to purify both body and spirit. However, it disappeared following the devastating flood in 1604.
In 1975, our brewery revived this historic sake, bringing back the “Onikoroshi” said to have been recorded in old manuscripts. Today, it lives on as Wakatake Onikoroshi.
Its delicate aroma evokes sweet banana and melon with a hint of acidity, while rich, smooth, and refined notes reminiscent of walnuts and dairy products unfold pleasantly across the palate.
A translucent, melon-like bouquet unfolds on the nose, within which a subtle, gently sweet note reminiscent of freshly steamed rice is quietly concealed, this sake is a flagship product of Omuraya Sake Brewery Co.,Ltd.
